Agape Center

The Agape CenterThe Agape Center is a community based HIV/AIDS support and resource center whose mission is to provide services, resources, and advocacy for persons living with or affected by HIV/AIDS and to promote community awareness and prevention of the disease. Agape is viewed as a safe, confidential setting where people living with HIV/AIDS are treated with dignity and respect. 

In order to be eligible for services at Agape, clients must be HIV+ and either live in Northern Rhode Island or receive medical services at Thundermist Health Center in Woonsocket. New clients should contact Lorna Cohen at 401-766-0900 x 1145 to set up an appointment for an intake.

The Agape Drop-In Center

The Drop-In Center is open three days a week, year round. Hours are Monday,
Wednesday, and Thursday, 8:30am-4:30pm. Breakfast and lunch are served on drop in days, and clients have access to the food pantry and personal care products.

Clients at the drop-in center use their time to:

  • socialize with other clients and staff
  • exercise
  • volunteer
  • access educational materials/computer center
  • participate in support groups
  • watch movies from an extensive DVD library on our big screen television
